Monday was our first field trip. I got to school around 1:45, because I was scared that if I didn't come early enough, I wouldn't get a camera. Luckily, there was a couple cameras there. I checked mine out and waited on campus until all of my carpool members got to school. I texted them to see what time and where they wanted to meet. They finally arrived at school and we headed off to the Tierra Miguel Farm. I was really surprised that we didn't make one U-Turn the whole road trip. I knew if I drove, we would've made at least one. When we got there, there was a presentation going on about foods. The sun was starting

to go down, so we decided to start walking around the farm so we could take pictures. A man who
works at the farm, named Johnathan, was our tour guide.
We started our walk around the far
m near the strawberries and moved towards the kohlrabi. When we got to kohlrabi, I thought they looked like a cross between a red onion and a carrot. Students got to taste some and I saw some like it, and some not. It sounded like an apple when they bit into it, but when I asked what it tasted like, no one could give me a definite answer. Some said it tasted like cabbage, others said it tasted like and onion.
We moved on towards another plant on the farm. I tried eating the sprout leaves, and it wasn't

that appetizing nor was it horrible. I was just hungry, and had to eat something, so I took another set for the next part of the walk.
It was starting to get really dark and we ended up seeing more kohlrabi.
We passed by some carrots on the way back where we started.

Those were the best carrots I've ever had. It might have been because I was really hungry, but everyone else said they were really good too. The skies looked really beautiful that afternoon. It looked like it just came out of a painting. It was probably the nicest sky I've ever seen in my life. This was a great field trip. I enjoyed it a lot.
