Scott Calhoun writes blogs similar to the way I write. Although he writes much longer on his topics that I would, his style is very easy to read. He didn't use too many big words, it wasn't very boring, and it went straight to the point.
This reminded me of when I took a communication style survey during an officer retreat for a club called, Jam Control. Through this survey, it helped the officers realize what kind of communication style we had: Directive, Spiritual, Considerate, and Systematic. My results for my communication style is Systematic. I tend to be straight to the point and I don't really like to say more than I have to, if I don't need to. Basically, making things harder than they need to be is far from one of my life priorities.
This is why I like Calhoun's blogs. I really hate reading things that have too many big words. They feel too overpowering just for a blog. I feel that formal writing is when big words come in handy, rather than casual writing. When you can't understand half of the words in a blog, I feel that it is a pain in the butt to read. Calhoun's blogs, on the other hand, wasn't so difficult. It didn't make me bored, nor did i struggle to read it. This is why I think Calhoun's blogs are a good example for an outline for my own blogging.
